AKC Rally Obedience

This class is for fun and to learn the basics of Rally. Most class days we’ll be outside in the parking lot. The training center is often too small for how much space we need. Weather will be a factor in how this course is taught. Please dress appropriately.

Week #1

Rules Of Rally
Refresh Heeling & Watch
Learn the “Finish”
Halt – Turn – Pivot
Signs: 1-20 & 25-36 (Novice Class)

Week #2

Walking backwards (You – You with dog)
Spirals – Weaves
Loops – Diagonals
Signs: 21-24 & 37-42 (Novice Class)

Week #3

Jumps
Review: Spirals, Weaves, Loops, Diagonals
Intermediate Signs 101-123 (Intermediate class)

Week #4

Short course – Novice Level
Short course – Intermediate Level
Signs 201-216 + 298-299 (Excellent class)

Week #5

Review Signs 201-216 + 298-299 (Excellent class)
Short course Excellent Level

Week #6

Signs 301-322 (Master Class)
Short course Master Level

For your first class please arrive a little early if possible. I'll need to see that you have the following items with you:

First Class Only Please Bring:

Proof of Veterinary Care (AKA – Record of Vaccinations)
Payment for Course in full or the remainder due after your deposit.
Signed Waiver for the Course.
Veterans with a Veteran ID or DD214 please ask about our Veteran Discount!

Bring to Every Class:

Leash attached to your dogs flat collar, Martingale collar, or training tool you use.
Please no “flexi” or extendable leashes, also no bungee leashes.
Treat Rewards or Toys for your pup (please no squeaking toys)
Poo bags / Clean up kit
Treat pouch strongly encouraged.
