This is a 12-week course. We will meet once a week and work on skills and/or behaviors all service/Therapy dogs need to have in public. In addition, you will be expected to learn the laws and service/Therapy dog etiquette while in public. We expect you and your dog to be on your best behavior and respectful of others at all times. These classes often take place mid-day weekdays and sometimes weekday evenings. At the end of the 12 weeks, you will take our Public Access Test.
This class cost $645.00 for the 12 weeks. You can make monthly payments of $215.00 in the form of a check or cash. The deposit for this class is $30.00. Service Dogs will be provided 2 ID cards once you pass the public access test (your dog must have a skill to receive the ID) any extra cards will cost $10.00 per card, Retesting fee is $75.00 and you will receive a retest certificate.
Travel is required. Most of these classes, if not all, will be in public locations. Once a class is formed you will be notified with dates, times, and locations for each class.
Therapy Dog: Dog must be at least one year old to take the Therapy dog test.
Drop ins available to those who have completed the Public Access class and want a refresher at $40 per class.
